People waited outside whole night for a valuable place in line at the Missions of Mercy free dental clinic. In two days, more than 1,100 people got required care. At least 400 were turned away. By 6 a.m. every day, the marquee read "Clinic full."
Many people had not seen a dentist in few decades. Teeth pulled: 1,900. Cavities filled: 482. Prescriptions written for pain medications and antibiotics: 550. Value of the average patient's care: $410.
Dental experts from around the state gave their time to make this clinic happen through Southwest Virginia's Community Based Health Care Coalition. Patients were seen by more than 60 dentists, 40 hygienists, 74 dental help and 37 dental students from Virginia Commonwealth University.

A NEW NHS dental care practice can be situated in the south Wye area of Hereford by the autumn.
The selected site is a Grade II-listed building recognized as Poole Farm House in Belmont Road, near to the Belmont roundabout.
The house is owned by Herefordshire Council and is been empty for some time. It is understood talks are taking place over its sale.
The PCT has established that the centre is soon to move to new surgeries linked to the community centre at the Asda store off the Belmont roundabout.
