People earning average or low income or below would have free dental care under a Labor plan to resolve the nation's teeth need.
A Rudd government will now give the states the required funding to clear the backlog of 650,000 people waiting for cure at dental hospitals around the country. Average income is presently $55,660 a year per person.
"We have to make sure that Medicare is correctly equipped to deal with the new health threats that the community faces," Ms Roxon told The Sunday Age.
