The rain Friday didn't stop hundreds of people coming to Newport News from lining up at 5:00 a.m. for free dental care.
Angela Hakeem, one of those with no insurance, didn't seem to mind her nearly six-hour wait getting a cavity filled. "I think it's nice. It's helping the needy. I appreciate it," she said.
Dozens of dentists, hygienists and also Good Samaritans have volunteered for the two-day Peninsula Community Dental Days. It's being held at the former Newport News Community Hospital on the Marshall Avenue.
