MOUNT CLEMENS -- Macomb County residents could begin signing up for discounted dental insurance once Aug. 15 if commissioners endorse the plan next week.
The effort is among numerous initiatives aimed at increasing residents' access to health care. The province also offers discounted medical insurance and prescription drug coverage. The dental plan is unique, however, in that there are no income limits to participate.
For $69 a year, Macomb County residents will get discounts of 20 percent to 60 percent on a variety of dental services. Those consist of annual exams, cleanings, X-rays, fillings, crowns and orthodontics.
